Man gets bicycle out of missing woman's SUV

Wal-Mart cameras showed an unidentified man removing a bicycle from a missing woman's SUV about 2:30 p.m. Thursday, just an hour after she left her home to shop, a Murfreesboro Police spokesman said.

Police hope information about the man will lead to his identity so detectives can ask him about how he obtained the Lincoln Navigator owned by missing woman Marsiline Smith, said spokesman Kyle Evans.

The cameras do not show Smith, 68, of Village Green getting out of the vehicle. Her husband reported her missing about 6:30 p.m. Thursday after she didn't come home from shopping. Smith is a diabetic. Without her insulin, she gets disoriented and goes into shock.

Parked between two Budget trucks, man removes car from Smith's SUV

Cameras showed the man driving Smith's champagne-colored Lincoln Navigator into the parking lot where he cuts off a car, possibly a gray Audi with a sunroof, with two people inside. The people in the car are asked to call Murfreesboro Police at 893-1311 to determine if they have any information about the man driving Smith's SUV.

After cutting off the other car, the man pulls into a parking space between two Budget trucks, "gets out a bicycle out of the Navigator and rides around the car and access road behind Applebee's toward Wine and Spirits" liquor store, the spokesman said. Police are considering the man a "person of interest," not a suspect, Evans said.

Police hope the driver of this Audi might have seen something.

"This guy is our best link of what happened to her. He may have the answers we're looking for." People who know the man and where he lives, saw him riding his bicycle about 2:30 p.m. Thursday near Wal-Mart or have any other information about him are asked to call Murfreesboro Police at 893-1311.

"That small piece of information may be what we need to find Mrs. Smith alive," Evans said. Police are still treating Smith's disappearance as a missing person case. "We are not ruling out foul play," Evans said. She is white, about 5-foot-4 and weighing 139 pounds. She has short, brown-red hair and blue eyes. She wears glasses. She was last seen wearing a long-sleeved shirt, faded blue jeans and a blue jeans jacket.

It appears from the pictures and video that the bike is brand new with the tags still attached to the spokes on the wheels. Im sure this is a stupid idea but I wonder if maybe she had bought this bike or the subject bought it maybe using her money or debit card. You can tell the bike has not been adjusted to fit this person and therefore this person does not ride this bike all the time. If I had to guess I would say he is from the Rogers Park area. based on the direction of travel.

gossip---tell this to the cops.
They might not realize it.
Also, try showing this to the guys at MOAB, they might know the guy.

Early TV news reports said police were monitoring the missing woman's credit card. I'm sure that's a fact they don't want to publicize heavily in hopes that if someone else has them they might try using them.
