What does your company produce? We provide custom employee benefits and executive benefits, working with business owners and managers, and individuals. We also evaluate current benefits programs with an emphasis on the quality of the benefits as well as the appropriate funding method. Our firm stands behind what we develop, making sure employees and executives thoroughly understand their benefits; we also provide strong service and advocate for employees and executives in getting the most out of their benefits.
What is your basic business philosophy? Our company is founded on the following qualities: Dependability, sincerity, quality, responsiveness and service. Our products and services come into play when people need their benefits to work for them, such as medical insurance, life insurance, long-term care insurance and others. We “dig down” into our customers’ needs and wants to be sure we are offering the very best products and service anywhere customized especially for them. We provide assurance in terms of stability, longevity, guidance, and we save our customers money. We are always here to help solve problems and we are available long after the benefits are in place to advocate for our clients with the providers. Also, we give back to our community and work hard to make our community a better place to live for all people. That is how we do our business day-in and day-out.
What is your proudest business achievement? Creating a skilled and experienced staff, including Jimmy McElhaney, Jr. and Kevin Dove, to serve our clients’ needs. Most of our employees have been with us for years. I’m also very proud of our affiliation with M Financial, which provides strong support for an exclusive number of firms like ours throughout the country, and helps set us apart from other firms like ours up and down the street.
What led you to Murfreesboro? College at Middle Tennessee State University.
What is your educational background? I have a bachelor’s in Business Administration from MTSU and am an American College Chartered Life Underwriter and Chartered Financial Consultant since 1984.
Where are you originally from? Quincy, Il.
What do you do for fun? Spend time with family, play golf and travel
Tell us about your family: My immediate family includes my wife Sandy, our son Spencer and our daughter Abi.
Who was your mentor? My father guided me early on, and later several business associates have been great sources of ideas, counsel and guidance for me.
